Kangaroo Point Bikeway bridge Burnt

Kangaroo Point Bikeway bridge Burnt

Postby beauyboy » Fri May 13, 2011 9:37 am

Just a quick heads up the Kangaroo Point Bikeway bridge near the Toilet in the dip has been burnt overnight. Bikes are being diverted along the service road for a short length. This is where it gets really dark at night.

Reports on 9 news said repairs will take 2 weeks but ABC said 2 months. I am inclined to believe the ABC far more that channel 9.

Channel 9 also discribed us (cyclists) as early morning exercisers :x i'm a commuter   you ignorant PR**KS.

Huh?

Can you go somewhere without a car?
Once you can climb hills on a bike it's all downhill.

Hopefully I'll know what that's like..... one day.

Is it just me, or does anyone else find the new surface on that bridge dangerous in the wet?

To tell the truth I do sense the grip is not quite as good but that is what you get when all you do is lay down a bit of ply.

I really want to know when the repairs will be occuring.

Repair work seams to finally be happening on the bridge today. Hopefully it will soon be returned to it's full width.
