Good luck for the ride tomorrow folks! I'll be getting up bright and early to ride to the start line. Dear Weather: no more rain, mmmkay? And a tailwind would be lovely, thanks.

Sitting at Helensvale station waiting in the train to bris (the one in 10mins, not the 4am oneî„…)... Staying in the city so I can get an extra hours sleep... I known I just could go to bed an hour earlier, but there is something fundamentally wrong with getting up before 4am... EVER! (IMO î‰)

Just getting ready. Didn't get to sleep until 11 pm ( why does that always happen before events) good luck and have fun everyone. Remember it's not actually a race so play nice with the other children. Say gday if you recognize me.

For your first 100k that's really good, did you have a head wind?

3:!2 was my time... pulled a bunch of people through the cane fields and no one stepped up to take a shot at the lead!!!!! Stopped at the second stop for some water...was a bit thirsty. Shouldn't have stopped. Would have been a sub 3hr I think had I not stopped as I was feeling pretty good. Anyway, only my second Charity 100K, much faster than the GC100. Those bus lanes.... AWESOME Rode back to Coomera station after the event to get the car...bloody head wind all the way!! Passed hundreds of riders still completing the course and I had been at the finish for 1 hour before I rode back. Quite unbelievable how many were on the road. I seriously am very very happy I swapped the Maxxis Refuse tyres out for the Michelin Pro Race 3's... they were a dream to ride on. Ave speed for me was 31.5km/h. Very very happy with that as with the Refuse tyres I wouldn't have been over 30.

What a great ride down and back this morning. Average 35.6, only dropped one from the group, and not not a single flat.

Had a great day and so good to see everyone enjoy themselves. I am an all right rider, turning 50 shortly and commute to work so know I can ride a reasonable speed. Last year only averaged round 29kph for the ride. Started out wanting to average minimum 30kph. Flew along the Busway and thought well, try for the 3hr time as was averaging around 36kph. At 2hr mark had covered 74km's. Had to stop for water at second stop (bypassed first) and picked up a group and pace again. Ended up doing 2hr 43min at 36.8kph. Really stoked as didn't know I could go that speed group riding.
cheers

My first 100k ride, was hoping for sub 4hr, not really knowing what to expect. Rode with two fit friends who ride, but aren't cyclists if you know what I mean. They weren't into drafting so it was like a solo ride... But at someone else's pace... I felt strong but stayed with them until Hope Island (about 82k), then told them I see them at the finish and took off to push hard for the finish. I ended with a time of 3.28, which I am stoked with . Oh, and I put 8min into my friends over the last 18k!

Seemed to be loads of people in the 30+ category who couldnt even do 20ks down the bus way, but other then that it was great ride. I wish the police would stop traffic like that on my way to work

Personal goals met:
Get rider weight to 75kg pre-ride Arrive Gold Coast by 8am (only just) - 2:41 No technical failures/stops/accidents Have fun Breakfast at Tedder Ave Still have energy to ride to Helensvale Station
Personal fails: Tail-light fell off
I reckon that's a win!
Ha ha! Cookies on dowels.

I really enjoyed the ride. i had the chain fall off 4 times (borrowed bike) and the speedo only recorded 85kms. endomondo says i did it in less than 4 hours which is good enough for me. speedo for what i did record says i averaged 29km/h.i spent a heck of a lot of time just cruising waiting for my riding partner. won't be doing that next year. will also be using my own bike. a very well organised event.

Hamster completed the ride in 4 hours and 5 minutes which is 15 minutes faster than last year. I left the start at 06:30 and arrived at the finish at 10:35, not too bad for a 26 year old bike with just 12 gears (and I used every one of them) and a rider that is well, far older.
Brilliantly organized event and a credit to all concerned. Congratulations to all who took part.
It would not be at all strange if history came to the conclusion that the perfection of the bicycle was the greatest achievement of the nineteenth century.

3:02 riding time...
Helped alot by the decent peleton we hooked onto for the last leg through Helensvale - about 40 of us all hammering along 40-45km/hr... Some random old bloke next to me huffing and puffing and going "We'll be right as long as we can hang on to these bastards!"
Was good fun, a couple of guys on the front kept trying to drop us through the round-abouts and corners but we held on, took our turn on the front and had a great ride in.
All in all a great day, but so many people throwing used gel packets onto the ground, especially through the cane fields - they're not bio-degradable people!!

It was a first for me. What a buzz. Tons of bunches doing good speed to just suck you along. My average for the GC100 was 32. For this one it was 36 a PB. I was just hoping to get in under 3 hours but I beat that by about 15 minutes. I rode back to Bris too and there were lots of bikes riding back. I was expecting to crawl back by myself but I got in a good bunch and rode it back to Beenleigh. Then the rot set in and I shared the next 40 km with one other bloke. The total distance for the day was 225, another PB. So that's 2 PBs. Yay! Now for my next PB, a loooong bath and a few beers.

well it was my first 100km ride. previously longest ride was only 48kms. my goal was to do it around the 4:30 mark. i did it in 4:08 with a bottom bracket issue which thanks to 99 bikes was fixed at the coomera stop. so could of been sub 4hrs. so im stoked

Waza get it into Ian & Andy and get them to pull it apart so that it's sorted properly.
Looking forward to next year, just for those bus lanes!!

Well... I'm back and I'm alive. Hell of a run down.... felt like I was flying. 2:44 ride time... avg 36.5. In hind sight.. confusion reigned early on in my group. 2/10 as one of them said for organisation. That was probably a little generous We should have just put the hammer down from the start. If you see the log below you can see how easy we took it at the start. At about 1:20 we just put the hammer down. Will just smash it next year. See the ride down here. The ride home was **much** slower for my group. We stuffed around getting away.. had a flat... stopped for a pie at Yatala... etc. I'm just necking brews watching the GP 209k down.. what a day!

Awesome ride, I'm stoked with my ride today, rode the 101k's in 3 hours 32 mins with an average of 28.6! My best ever Flew down the last 5 ks of the busway with an average of 36k Did another sub 9min 5k split in the last 10k Met Steve at the start line and met Brades out on the course just before the 2nd stop, nice to meet you! With my ride to the start and back to Paradise Point I did a totaly of 126k's...that makes to day my longest and fastest ride to date! Looking forward to next year!
