I think I'll definitely go because that is beautiful country particularly in Spring. And the whales should be there in Hervey Bay

I'm in. I got number six. I can't believe five scumbags.. err.. I mean... fellow cyclists got in ahead of me!

I can't wait for this year's ride. Also hoping for Easy Campese, but this year I have a nice tent to take, so if it doesn't happen, I won't cry.

Well I hope they get a good showing this year, though the lower then normal numbers in 2011 made it easier at the end of each day.

The 2011 event was mostly very good but i will not be doing it this year.

I particularly enjoyed the weather and the route in 2011.
Hope you have good weather this year.
I would recommend you consider booking some motel accomodation in Hervey Bay in case it rains.

All quiet on the CQ front here. The route profile looks better for my tandem and I particularly like the idea of a loop the first day.

I'm trust your entry fees are going towards a charitable cause?

Not the response I was after. I am compiling a national ride calender at the request of our supporters - many of whom participate in these rides - and have been able to gather a lot of useful info on roughly 80-90% of them except this one and some rides further south not associated with State orgs. And yes, I am including useful non-biased info on BNSW and BNV rides. Merely asking a pertinent question Max.
I deserve the witty remark from you, I admit that, but my question was actually without malice.
So, anyone?

Never mind Max I found it by chance. The Cycle Queensland 2012 nominated charity is the Forget Me Not Children's Home. Gee, thanks for the BQLD type response though :|

Has anyone booked rest day activities yet? I'm still undecided. I'm keen to know what others are doing.

So Dave, d'yer reckon you could Google first and ask questions later next time?

Nope. My old man is going from town to town along the ride towing the caravan (so no tent city for me!).... i'm gonna enjoy every minute when i'm not riding just chilling out with him. Living nearly 5hrs away from me, i don't get to see him too often these days, which is why this event is gonna be awesome in more ways than just riding.

Went out yesterday and rode the Day 1 route for the event. There are going to be a lot of folk in for a rude shock on September 8  It's certainly not the easiest 56kms ive ever done that's for sure. My Dad and Mum came over and followed me along the route, it was the first time they'd seen me ride since taking up the sport 12 months ago.

 there's a 20% pinch in one of those climbs! Oh well, might see a few walkers on day one

My mum has decided we're going to the aquarium on the rest day. Shark feeding and so forth. I really like aquariums, so it should be a good day :D

Hmmm does everything need to be for a charity !! I am so tired of political correctness
You can elect to fundraise for your own charity if you need to feel good about your ride . Otherwise just enjoy the company, food, entertainment and countryside
