Open Cut Mining approved for the CorsoIn case no-one noticed, the road profilers have hit the inbound side of the Yeronga Corso and converted it to an open cut mine.
Nice to discover it sign-posted right at the start as I went past it (AT) 40kph this morning. Ride it at your peril! Here's to hopes it resurfaced soon. Ha ha! Cookies on dowels.
Re: Open Cut Mining approved for the Corsothey've also hit sylvan rd, slowed me down a bit on my spin out to coot-tha this morning. Hopefully they tidy it up quickly, though I'm not super optimistic.
Re: Open Cut Mining approved for the CorsoSylvan Rd is supposed to be resurfaced within a week.
Re: Open Cut Mining approved for the CorsoThe Corso is quite attrocious - saw about 10 flats there this morning, I'm not going back till its resurfaced as it is somewhat of a hazard for riders and tires atm.
Re: Open Cut Mining approved for the CorsoGlad I read this today, I was going to head home this way this afternoon, maybe not. Thanks for the post
Re: Open Cut Mining approved for the Corso
Only the inbound side. Even worse this morning with lots more loose gravel. Exciting stuff! Ha ha! Cookies on dowels.
Re: Open Cut Mining approved for the Corso
I rode west and back this morning - this section was a breeze on the MTB
Re: Open Cut Mining approved for the CorsoYes, the Corso is pretty ugly at the moment. I rode it last night and this morning.
If they seal it like they did in Diane St it's going to be just beeeautiful. Smooth as a ... well you know.
Re: Open Cut Mining approved for the Corso
yeah I cut across from holland park to tennyson and then home thru the city
Re: Open Cut Mining approved for the CorsoAny updates ? Planning to go for a training ride in the morning ....
Re: Open Cut Mining approved for the CorsoDont want to sound like a whinger (especially when a nice smooth road is so close
Re: Open Cut Mining approved for the CorsoDid ariver loop this morning and an underlay has been layed ..... Still rough but better than what it was ...., waiting for the smooth surface to be laid, I suspect over the next few days on an evening maybe .....
Re: Open Cut Mining approved for the Corso
That's just what they want you to think. Notice how all the signs are gone? I think the Council crew have called it a wrap & finished it. Seriously. Ha ha! Cookies on dowels.
Re: Open Cut Mining approved for the Corso
I did notice the no signs yes and also did wonder about that but if that is the case they did a massive sloppy job .... Did you notice the holes at some spots? They may have to cut corner due to Julia's pay increase
Re: Open Cut Mining approved for the Corso
Yeah I was out there this morning filling the potholes with spare $2 coins...... Cheaper than a snake-bite flat on a tubular. Ha ha! Cookies on dowels.
Re: Open Cut Mining approved for the Corsothanks for the updates.
looks like plan b will have to be actioned for Tuesday......Mt Nebo it is..
Re: Open Cut Mining approved for the Corsosylvan road was meant to be complete by wednesday or thursday just gone. does anyone have any update?
Re: Open Cut Mining approved for the CorsoThe corso is a massive mess ! That rain over the past week has now made some even bigger pot holes than before
Re: Open Cut Mining approved for the CorsoBoth Sylvan and the Corso are crappy. Oh well, can't expect too much considering the weather we've had this last week.
Re: Open Cut Mining approved for the Corso
they've smoothed over half of the bit they ripped up, other half is still rough though.
Re: Open Cut Mining approved for the Corso
which half?
Open Cut Mining approved for the Corso
the rough half.
Re: Open Cut Mining approved for the CorsoOn sunday there was a drop down to the new section. Bit of a thump-o-nuts moment at 45k.
Once you can climb hills on a bike it's all downhill.
Hopefully I'll know what that's like..... one day. ![]()
