What day was this done Donald?

Normally I ride in on the SE Freeway path, one of the 19%/10% of female riders who rides a drop bar roadie, including a backpack!
Nice stats.

I thought that there was some kind of counter on the bike path recently near where the path goes down to the river parallel to the freeway?
Was that your set-up or a government thing?

I think that you misunderstood me, there was a black box attached to the fence and two black cords (sorry for the lack of tech knowledge here with my description!) running across the width of the path, looked like an official counting setting up.

Thursday on the SE path, I was probably counted then :)

oh yes that is Government stuff. What I wanted to do with my count is break up the numbers a little to see who was riding.

What was the tally this morning? Im guessing most fell between 7:30am-8:30am.

You might need to start a seperate tally for the riders without any lights that i see on the ride home
Still, not as dumb as the other rider i passed with a red flasher on the front of his bike. Talk about inviting a head-on collision

I sometimes do a gender count of a hundred cyclists part way into my journey at about the time boredom is setting in. It's somewhere between Canning and Narrows Birdges. I can report that during morning commute time the split is around 16 to 17% women. Max ever was 24% and as low as 10%.

Without actually doing a conscious count I do notice a much higher incidence than that of women earlier though, between 5:30 and 6:00am around Bateman/Bull Creek/Brentwood.

Never formed much of an impression on weekend traffic though there are lots more than 17% women represented at the coffee shop.

(I really do need to get a life!)
