I put the carbon cranks against it last night and it looks pretty good so I will wait for the cups to arrive from Denmark to complete the bottom end. I am also waiting for a set of Eubois handlebars to arrive from Ireland to complete the top end. Hopefully next week it will be complete however a wise sage once told me that its better to ensure its correct rather than rushing just for the sake of finishing.
opinions on the best lube for brifters? I cleaned a whole lot of gunk out of them yesterday so they need lubricating before installation.

Sell the chorus. Keep the record crankset that's already on it.

Hey Waz, I normally use chain lube (in my case ProGold Pro Link, but I buy by litre bottles which is probably why I use it on nearly everything), or you could use a penetrative spray (ie WD40, c r c, Inox, etc), I worry about the acid levels on penetrative sprays (that's how they penetrate), but is easier to get in their, or just loosen the bars, tip them up & drip the chain lube in to the mechs.

Not sure which shifter system you are talking about, some stuff use nylon or plastic pawls etc. (micro shift, some sram & I think some campy), if that's why the shift is hard then all the lube in the world won't fix it.

If I bring the car tomorrow, I'll bring those 600 TriC wheels for you.

Waz, I have to put a new battery in the car, so I won't be driving in, how urgent do you need the hubs????

I'm not sure if I'll have time on Monday, so either Friday arvo or next Sat, unless you need them urgently, then you'll have to come over & grab them.

I'll talk to you about them in the morning.

I reckon the carbon cranks will look ok, didn't think I'd like the late model cranks or wheels when I fitted either of them to the Verty, but they sort of look good in a weird sort of way.

Standard format Raturday ride, an hour on the riverloop followed by an hour at the coffeeshop, with a bit of extra time somewhere.
Some new riders or machines to inject some added spice into the event.
But there was an incident, one of our members had his bicycle attacked by angry ants when he parked it in a tree at the coffeeshop.
That stumped us.
How does one ride home with lots of agitated ants running around on the saddle ?

Chris King Cycles carbon fork, sex on a stick, (If you don't like munga's one) 1 inch steerer, got one on my Dolan trackie, I can bring it again (don't need gears as I proved today).

Helmet cam vids from this Raurday's ride-

Vid #1 - http://youtu.be/l1wHlvSFWUA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Vid #2 - http://youtu.be/_hAwVbdLGkE" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Vid #3 - http://youtu.be/zQfZGHmr2eE" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Vid #4 - http://youtu.be/3Uis5cRm-8I" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Though the Raturday rides ain't a race, funnybike got me on the line, but I'd turned the video cam off, so no pictures, no video's then it didn't happen, na it did, the boy's isolated me & made sure I didn't win much at all, guess every dog has his day, it was mine on Tues. I think vaeske won the day today.

Oh & I solved my car problems, I now have a used Renault 12, yep it's very used & abused, but I sort of like it-------

Ha, Wal, my great victory is there after all. Right in the last 2 seconds of the vid. Nice camera work mate.

You can bask in the knowledge that my mate Adam ripped me up and down the hills along Waterworks Road before he peeled off at The Gap, leaving me to ride the slowest ascent of Settlement Road in recorded history. :shock:

I should have taken the slow lane with you and just plodded home..... :oops:
