all good fun till someone loses their sense of humour. dimma, modern bikes are more than welcome, but our average speed is in the low/mid 20's. if we were to crack top 500 (1000?) in any riverloop segment, i'd be surprised. it's a social ride, not a training ride. by all means push each other a bit, but don't get antsy about waiting for ppl and who's at the back and who's stopping _again_ to take a whizz, and you'll be fine 8)
realistically, if you're rocking $5k worth of monocoque electronic shifting glory, you're gunna get bored of doing riverloop. hardly bragging rights to beat most of us.

I'm more worried about who's on the whizz, myself.

Riding is not all about going fast.
Di2 doesn't make me any faster, just means I don't have to get my bike serviced as often.

Oh! So that's how new carbon bikes come into being, a quick trip to the spelling yard for a service.

Knowing that its at least five times out of my budget, I'm actually keen to try out EPS. Where to hide the battery in a 28.6 tube, though??

either meet us at the story bridge around 6am, or ride over with us from west end at 5:30. we will not be waiting for latecomers* this week.

outside All Hallows school on Kemp Place

not on the bridge, but the town side of the bridge. all hallows is the big catholic girls school (yeah you know it) in the valley, near the bridge.

Brilliant. Looking forward to my first Raturday, and apologise in advance for any weird sounds my bicycle makes.

T'was a fun ride today fellas, a real pleasure riding with you all - i ended up doing 72km this morning. Great to see some well maintained older bikes, and it was an interesting change coming into town from my place so early in the day (compared to my work commutes) and using roads i'd not normally dream of using. Looking forwards to the next one, especially given the nice brekky afterwards, that really hit the spot...

Yeah fellas, thanks for the ride. A lot of firsts for me: first raturday; first t bone crash/narrow clip stack miss; first morphsuit, first coffee shop owner reprimand. Lot of action in 30 km's.

yeah. guy in the morphsuit upset the cafe proprietor, to the point that when morphy left, mr cawfie came and told us he wasn't welcome back.
"extremely offensive", and "made the other customers uncomfortable", so we either find a new cafe, or the power ranger has to find a new team.

personally, i like the cafe..

big up's to jacob_T, and Big_Red who both came along for the fisrt time this morning. both of you seemed to enjoy the pace, the food, the coffee, and the company (as did we). hope we see you again next weekend.
special thanks to a certain traffic controller for going back to find me 1 km from the end of the ride. despite the jokes, i appreciate you doubling back to check on us.

and a special poem for our favourite young fella:

And I somehow rather fancy that I'd rather not be like Clancy,
Even though he conveys less than he conceals.
While his virtues we could extol, today his bike control
Earned him local notoriety, Clancy, of `The Trainingwheels'.
