Ride as you like, as I said we vary the trips these days so I have ridden mid 80s Gefsco(retired), late 80s/early 90s(?) Shogun Celeste Beau, 2000 Master X lite and 2012 Spec Roubaix. We ride what we ridefoo on patrol wrote:Thanks Wazza I will try and make it to one even if on my modern bike, if that's allowable, until I get my Rappallo going properly.

Let's revise that.elantra wrote:Well to put it in club race lingo, yes one of our clan could ride C-grade, but there would be 4 of us in D-grade and one riding E-grade (E for electric assist).foo on patrol wrote:Just out of curiosity, how quick do you blokes ride and be truthful here, because I've just about got my old roadie going properly and would like to catch up at some point?

Our "C-grade" rider just blasted up the back of Mt. Coot-tha (his first time at it) in about ten and a half minutes total, passing more than 20 other cyclists in the process..
And that was on a steel frame bike more than 20 years old So i suspect that he might be a bit strong for "C-grade"

O'Reillys. Now that's quite a climb. It would have been beautiful for sure. Terrible road surface.Wazza wrote:That was DJ Smith park . Just the 2 of us. Hope you got your walking stick.

forecast for brisbane area appears favorable, http://www.bom.gov.au/qld/forecasts/brisbane.shtml
This is a bit of a surprise considering that a cyclone has crossed the coast up north.

i'm in two minds about starting a new thread, and suggesting a new meeting point for any further retro riverloop raturdays.
also, there's a Facebook page (which i co-host) called https://www.facebook.com/groups/retroclassiccycling/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; where I post upcoming local events/rides that I hear about.
if you would like to contribute (or lurk/sledge), please feel free to join.
