I might rock on up to the next raturday ride if it's on next Saturday, i hope the STI's on my 25 year old steel roadie won't disqualify me from coming along. Looking forward to getting my retro riders jerseys in the next couple of weeks munga... Dunno how far you guys travel, but i'll likely ride from home which means 30km tacked on to whatever you do.

The loop we do is around the 32k mark so it will be a 60k+ day for you. Don't worry about brifters, as mentioned here previously everyone is welcome, we just choose to ride older steel bikes and talk about them :D :D

6am
Browning Street
West End - near the Melbourne Hotel

PS
Only 2 bikes yesterday had D/T shifters.

Really, the only thing retro about this ride is the average age of the participants ;)

Its easy when your children struggle with the concept, even more so with the reality.

I replaced the downtube shifters on the bike only 2 months ago with a 2nd hand set of ultegra 6600 brifters. It's made the bike so much more rideable, but there is plenty of "vintage" stuff still left on the bike - Sugino/Suntour/Dia Compe/Cinelli and the frame is Columbus SLX tubing...
Unfortunately the frame is a tad too big for me, so the money i save using the bike to commute to work instead of using bus/train will be used later down the track to get me to n+2 bikes...

yeah if we can tolerate (tolerance is not the same as acceptance) madfiber sr11eps, we can tolerate di2.
the thing is, can you tolerate us talking about the best corncobs and differences between various retrofriction levers?
further, can your ego handle nobody being interested in your iBike? 8)

Maybe I'll wait until the next generation of Di2 is released, then start my own iBike retro thread.

I think you'd do two loops in the time it takes us to complete one, dimma ;)
