I wish. Was tempted to take that mtb and relocate it just to prove a point, though.

Unfortunately i'll be unable to ride this week as SWMBO has decreed that I need to stay at home and await the delivery of a new bed for our 8 year old, while she takes the little tyke to the doctor to have his 2 fractured fingers looked at... So I guess i'll see the retro crew next week and just do a double Wynnum loop with a mate tomorrow nite.

Bonus points for pom poms and spokey dokes. Public lynching for morphsuits.

Thanks Munga for the kind words. Well chosen. He is one of my favorite young fells too, even though his course is a bit erratic.
See you guys tomorrow.

Looks like it'll be a 90km or so day for me this raturday, as wifey has expressed her desire to attend a podiatrist appointment early in the morning. Bring it on. 8)

Despite the rest of you bailing, i still managed a 73km effort, with a Wynnum/Thornside loop. Absolutely perfect day for a ride with only a little bit of a westerly headwind down by the bay.

Loving that coffee at Wrapture, i should have had a second one before setting off...

on behalf of the soft, lilly-livered weaklings that call themselves retro riverloop rats, I apologise to you, Big-Red.
Next week will be a cracker!

coffee at Wrapture was to the usual standard. Alec seems to be fairly comfortable with us lounging around every saturday now. good grub too. not the usual panfried, bland 'big brekky' crap.
free plug: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cafe-Wra ... ref=stream" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

on another note, I wonder if the riverloop has run its course, and should be put out to stud. perhaps a longer, more social retro sunday ride might be of greater interest.
a 7am start and a 40-70km ride with coffee/brekky along the way or afterwards might be the way to go - it seems that we're all increasingly busy with weekend chores on a saturday morning.

i'll leave it open to discussion, but if i don't get any feedback pushing for the raturday to continue, i think we might knock it on the head in the next few weeks.

Sorry All (especially Big Red) i actually thought i would be a goer this morning but a social occasion the night before took its toll and i needed a coffee and a tea at 6.30am before i could even get out of bed. Then did recover quickly and managed to knock off a Coottha loop by 8am.

Not before i lost another 10kg, it's too hard pushing my weight up that! I ended up doing 100km & climbing 783m yesterday after going for a ride with a mate in the afternoon, but feel surprisingly good
this morning, i must be getting fitter...

Honestly I don't care if the ride is 20km or 100km nor if it's a riverloop, Cootha torture test, flat strap race bridge to bridge, etc, so long as I can go for a ride and either Saturday or Sunday early mornings is ok by me. I understand that folks have families and lives of their own and can't always have the luxury of weekend bike time but that's life for you.

I'm coming (home?) to Brisbane at the end of May, and bringing my late 80's Clamont.

Did I tell you that I am a lazy plick?

Too lazy to read 57 pages of this thread

Can someone tell me , in two short sentences here, do I qualify, and if so what would I qualify for? :D
