I am riding in from home this week to start getting some Ks under my belt/saddle for b2gc. It should be interesting as it should be ~80k by the time I get back home. Meanwhile does any one have a BB tool for cartridge type BBs that I could borrow? I'm doing some changes on the Repco as practice when the Gefsco is ready for assembly.

I've sort of bought a Repco Superlight frame (yep it looks a whole lot like munga's one, maybe because it is munga's one), so now I'm going to be chasing wheels, groupo bits, stem (I think), bars, etc.

I have a Suntour Superbe front derailleur on the way from the US, unfortunately for me it's a braze on, so I'm looking out for someone needing a braze on one or looking to swap a braze on for a clamp on one.


If you have some stuff sitting around that you wouldn't mind parting with, I'm interested, seeing as it's a Superlight I'm looking Suntour Superbe, high end Sakae, Araya, Weinmann, Sugino, etc. you guys know the sort of stuff that was found on high end bikes of that era, wanting as much period (as I'm looking at it more as a resto than just a build), not in a hurry.

Give us a yell if you have something you think may be ideal.

Thanks mate, I'll keep that in mind, my preference is always Suntour but I've had no experience with the Italian component maker that starts with C, I guess I'm thinking that within financial common sense I'll try them, but the same can be said of the Superbe stuff, I can buy a whole groupset for US$800 from a dealer in the US (yeah right I'll part with that much for gear that I can't examine, I'm not sure if I'd pay that for a local groupo), what I have is time, it's bike #13 for me, I'm not in a balls out hurry to build the bike in the next 10 minutes, so if it takes a few months or even a year, I'll be happy with that.

Tidy up the frame just a touch - vaeske's photo made it look a whole lot filthier than it actually is
Build - headset, bars, etc coming also from Germany
Actually, I don't need much - but you're running a connex, right? Your thoughts on that would be welcomed.

Maybe it will be ready - don't trust aus post to get a package to me next week though.

Alternative is to gear up the superlite, but single speeding to the coast is a nice challenge too...

i have a kmc on the raleigh - it works. $9 at lbs.
don't count on bike24 being less than 3 weeks delivery.

My KMC 1/8" have all been fantastic.
That package will get from Oëttingen to Sydney faster than it gets from Sydney to Brisbane, I'm predicting.
Probably chasing some SPD road pedals too, or maybe just another set of M535s
Tyres too actually, should probably have chucked some schwalbes in with the order but anyway. Vaeske's yellow offerings were a bit too lairy for me
and a saddle - the NOS yellow striped team colours job i was offered was awesome, but not entirely my bag.

Ok decision made, I'm going to fit Campy Nuovo Record to the Superlight, so if you have stuff or know of someone with said stuff, I'm interested.

At present guesstimate it's going to cost me about $700 plus wheels to fit the Campy stuff, I think that's nearly a whole groupo, bar brakes.

Don't worry about polishing it mate, I can run the buff over it before I start building it.
