hey kids, we'll be rolling out at 6:45 - 7:00, probably for a 16km half loop, (depending on whether vaeske feels up to a longer ride).

Hmm, may try to join you guys, if I can make it in from Stafford by 6:45....

well i missed this morning's ride (family commitments) and forgot to tell anyone, but i hear vaeske and elantra are flying the flag for the rats.
will wait to hear if anyone else showed up.

Think I might come up in a few weeks and join you guys. Dont want you blokes having a mortgage on all this fun!

I don't think so, I rode the weekend before last on a modern single speed, so providing you're into a nice ride, good conversation, relaxed atmosphere & you're not taking yourself too seriously then I think you'll have a pretty good time.

It's really not one of those rides for a 'wannabe pro' serious 'racer' type, it's just a bunch of old fogies (no insult intended as I'm one of the oldest), riding some different stuff, having a top time. I'm back in 2 weeks (hopefully) on either the Vantage or maybe even hopefully the Vertex (most of the gear is here or on the way).

Don't worry about me I'm no spring chicken born mid way through last century! and the three bikes I own are all steel and at least 25 years old! I like fast, and slow rides. I rode with Munga and Vaeske at Eroica, so they know a little about me!

Good to meet you Matt, i am in awe of your handling of riverloop on a fixie bike.

Pleasantly cool weather conditions and plenty of opportunity to chat about the big issues in life.
But Montague Road on a saturday morning is a bit dicy - the Davies Park Markets is a traffic hotspot.
Saw some woeful attempts at reverse parking.

took out the raleigh out today for a ride around the block and bloody friction shifting jumped so many times i got !! BAN ME NOW FOR SWEARING !! and embarrased...I need to fix this in time for saturday...

Usually i'd be with you actually, they've never done that much for me but vaeske's looks nice, and just wait til you see mine!! I guarantee you won't be rolling your eyes at that one .

i'm picking my wife up from portside 7am saturday so i'm out again.

A link to one of 4 clips I've posted on you tube of Saturday mornings ride, only 3 of us, managed to run into the departing hordes doing the CtCC ride, so we tried to jump ahead of their route.

A broken cleat put paid to our efforts, so we turned back to the start.

3 bikes & riders went out, 3 bikes & riders got back safely without damage or injury, so I guess you'd call that a successful ride.

who's the new guy?

i'll get better cleats and shoes next month when i have monies. right now these looks are the way to go for me.

There was myself, vaeske & another guy that he knows (I'm not sure if he's on the forum).

Waz told me today he's coming this Saturday(both vaeske & I bought stuff off him this week), myself & not sure who else.

Hopefully the Vertex will be on the road tomorrow, everything is done except taping the bars & putting a decent set of tyres on it (not happy with the 20mm Indonesian tyres fitted at present). I'm finished for the week on Friday morning, so I shouldn't have my eyeballs hanging out of my head this week (I really didn't feel like riding but enjoyed the ride anyway), we won't be running into the Ride to Conquer, hopefully no mechanicals, so should be a good day.

Expect to see you there munga, hopefully elantra too, gee we may even number 5 or 6, that'll be a good look.

wazza from clontarf is coming?

He said he was, when I saw him this morning.

Also trying to get a group together for the Bris 2 Gold Coast, I'm riding the Vertex so looking to see if anyone else wants to do the ride down & I'm doing an easy ride back afterwards, on retros, it would be good to get a good size pack together.
