Well talk about windy = 40-61kmh wind gusts and that = interesting lines on the road.

No hurtin on this ride, as I have, well hope to have, a meet at Caboolture Velodrome this afternoon. :)

Bribie Tri tomorrow, so there will be more than enough hurtin for the weekend.

Yeah it has been canned! I would have hurt myself more this morning, if I had of known that was coming. Oh well, more energy for the Tri.

Bribie Tri outta the way again. There was no hiding from the wind and made life difficut. :( Once I get used to riding Tri bars, it should make a difference in my times and overall speed into the wind in future.

7th in the Teams bike leg and my team 13th overall. Pretty happy with that. :)

Thinking about a ride from home, out through the pineapple and turf farms to Wamuram and then Cambells Pockets rd to Caboolture. How hard are the climbs from Wamuran to Caboolture? :?

How hard is hard?

Campbells Pocket Rd is a good climb. From Basin Rd to Jackson Rd is about 2.5km. Last time I did it a few weeks ago it took me about 18 minutes. I was pretty chuffed with that considering the first time I did that climb a few years ago it took me about 45 minutes. My bike is pretty heavy too.

The first couple hundred metres from Basin Rd is the steepest part. Then the road drops again and you lose all the altitude you just gained. Then settle in for a constant climb of about 8% or so. After Jackson Rd it undulates all the way to Mt Mee Rd with some steep climbs if you want to go that far. Alternatively take Tidwell Rd then Pedwell Rd for a quieter option to Mt Mee.

Jackson Rd has some dirt sections but it will take you back down to Old North Rd opposite Bellmere Rd which you can take back in to Cabo.

Well what a ride with a difference!

The weather was hot and humid as I'm trundling along on the front, I notice what I thought was some rubbish on the road but as I got closer, it moved and raised a claw at me. WTH, it was a bloody mud crab. Pics to follow.

After doing Campbell's take W Lindsay rd off Campbell's and head east along it. The roads got on little climb and it's a bit rough but after your first Campbell's you probably don't want to do the climb back up to wam from the sports grounds. At the exit from W Lindsay turn right onto old North. There is a small hill. At the top turn left onto Bellmere rd and it's pretty much downhill to Cabo.

Have fun on Campbell's. Just watch for cars on the blind cornors on the descent.

What wheels did you have in?
Why is it when the wind is that strong the weather gods conspire to ensure the wind is never at your back? :( [emoji38]

Had my DT Swiss 2.0 wheels in and cross winds were an interesting experience.

Bribie Island is a weird place in the wind, because you get lots of swirling and cross winds but not that many places with it at our backs. :(

Bring on the cooler months I say as this humidity is shocking to ride in. The last couple of rides I've started doing some flying sprints in different areas to try and start sharpening the legs up a bit. :)

Yep, busted me having a quick roll with the ladies again, the 10yo is starting to go a bit faster now and can cruise around 22kph (which she easily does when she gets angry at me for rousing on her for bludging and going too slow). T-bar (the neighbour) was supposed to be riding with us but thought we'd already gone without him so he took off in front of us to try and track us down, we saw him on his way back and he said he'd seen you guys zip past. Pretty humid morning though, even T-bar commented at the pub tonight that our 0515 starts on weekdays were much nicer than these 0645 starts with the girls on a weekend, at least I could jump straight in the pool afterwards.

Bribie Tri done and dusted again. The difference that Tri bars make in a head wind is amazing. 8)

Pulled some time back on a couple of the younger ones this morning, so I was happy with that but it was interesting to do an analysis against them, to see where they were faster and it surprised me on how many spots I was quicker and how far into it that I was stronger. If only I could train four days a week, at a minimum, instead of two days. :(

Hey Foo, Nicko was keen for another ride tomorrow morning. Does the Sunday crew still leave from the surf club at 7am? That's the time I've told him anyway.
