Yeah, did Mt Coot-tha in the wind on my Gipi 416s. Big gust at Toowong threw me about 600mm sideways.

Most people in this mornings road race would have had some fun with the cross winds. I know I had a few grabs at the bars while pushing 45-55kph :P

Nicely done Foo. To do that many km's on Bribie you must have gone down every street twice :)

Bloody arsehole car drivers1  This retard, instead of stopping and letting the group go by, charged across to the medium strip and of course the riders in front slammed on the brakes and I was collateral damage from another rider going down. He came down on my back wheel and I was just there for the ride.

Damage report........One RS helmet, rear wheel looks like it is drunk, skin off in a couple of places and can't walk properly as I took most of the impact on the thigh and hip. :x :x :x :x

Back wheel is almost like new now. :D I have not lost my touch with the spoke key.

Strange how you don't leap up off the ground after a stack like in the younger days. :(

Well the follow up to the crash and burn ride.

Decided to have a crack with the bunch but I left a bit later to meet them closer to home. The thinking if things are not right, I don't have as far to ride back home. So long as I just did a steady spin, things weren't to bad but get out of the seat to kick and a reality check was given and the body said sit down you idiot or I will make more pain available to you.

Anyway I got a few ks in before things started going down hill and they could call me soft.

Sorry to hear about your stack Foo, but it's the risk in larger groups isn't it, if something happens up front everyone else doesn't get too much time to react. Glad to hear you're ok, although you still sound a bit sore. The average Bribie motorist is the main reason why we don't road ride with our daughter over there yet and stick to our Beachmere roads instead, the bike path riding over there though is second to none.

All good Paddles, like some people that know me say...you're hard arsed old bastard.

It was a good thing that we weren't a little bit further on as we motor along Avon Avenu at 45-55kmh on the fast rides.

The thigh and hip has coloured up quite well but I now have problems with my groin area and the muscle that runs from the neck to the collar bone. :(

Another top morning for a ride, until the wind got up.

The body is still not right but at least I could have half a crack in the sprint. :D

Dang, what a top morning to be on the bike! :D

I'm happy with the progress this morning on the recovery front. I cracked 42kmh average for one of the legs and that was after getting dropped 3/4s of the way along it.

Well i managed to keep up (ish) and i had to ride all the way down from Coolum :) . You'd be all over it, especially if you're on fire like that day in Maleny.

A drab day here but still got the ride in before any rain came. The bike will need to be cleaned again now due to the wet road and sand all over the gear.
