Cairns to Alice Springs

Hi everyone!
I'm planning to ride from Cairns to Alice Spring after wet season, I'd love to know if someone has done it. I need advices please :)

While Dan's advice is sound, it might be worth posting in the Touring Australia section, which is full of long-range desert rats who will be able to help you out.
