watch this space.

in the meantime, i'd guess you have about 12-16 weeks to get your project(s) finished.

A birdy tells me 10-11 August. That gives 20 weeks, which means any projects should be 125 to 167% more Eroica'ed than previously envisaged :)

Link to the event website. No mention of the 2013 event yet, but i was speaking to one of the organisers a month or 2 ago and he said they had been talking to their contact at the Noosa Marina, who was very happy to host it again.

Dates are chalked in.

A change of route..... a different format....... a different name to avoid unfortunate sexpo connotations in the minds of the public.

Gradually updating the website as well :D

I'm not sure, the Mercier (which is still out of action btw, I haven't got around to fitting the new derailleur to replace the one that asploded in brissy) is the only bike I have a matching jersey for, but showing up in the same gear 2 years in a row is tres uncool isn't it? :) . My brother has a vintage Peugeot jersey, but the Iseran he rode last year went in the pre wedding fire sale (we both hated it anyway).

I could do the ride in my show gear on the Healing, but i'm really not too keen on doing the 125k on a singlespeed with only a coaster brake. And who knows how much strength is left in those 59 year old rims.

As for show bikes, i'll have the his n hers Healings, Dawes, Tarini and Tom Wallace I had there last year, along with a 78 Viscount Sebring, 70s BSA Tour of Britain, 80s Fellini and one or two very special bikes :) .

18 weekends to find a derailleur, lachy...

... or 18 weekends to build another bike and buy another jersey.

I got the derailleur from someone on the forum months ago, I just haven't put it on the bike! .

Maybe I should find a geared Dawes...

i assume alan/vitus/tvt/LOOK alloy and/or carbon retrobikes are ok?

I would have to assume so. I mean in the first Eroica we had a bloke on an aluminium avanti with carbon stays! And there's a local rider who has a nice Baum which i think would fit nicely even though it's only a couple of years old.

On another topic, i am hating the weather today, trying to do some painting but it keeps raining so i can't get the frame out in the sun :x .

I have what is to believed a 1980'something, Raleigh Elan, but it is still not confirmed or positively identified!

It is a 62cm frame and in reasonable condition. I have no time to restore, but the desire to keep and restore is there.
If you need a bicycle for this ride I am happy to lend you the old girl, if you find it needs X or Y parts (bearings etc) I will pay for the part if you fit it.
It does need respoking or new wheels, I cannot afford this at the moment (I can afford spokes but not a rebuild). Further information in the thread viewtopic.php?f=23&t=49293&start=125
It has a 501 frame, possible 531, the seat stem diameter is 27 mm.
I will not be shipping it but happy to meet somewhere on the coast.

It is almost certain with my new career progression I will not be able to get the bike ready or attend myself. I would love to see it used.
I would also like to help fit the parts, time permitting. :D

It's up to you..... the offer is there.

If no one else puts their hand up, i would be happy to give it a good scrub and service and take it to the show for you?

EDIT: oh and there were enough breaks in the rain today for me to get that paint happening :) .
