You're a crazy man Pinto!ldrcycles wrote:And just in case anyone is able/willing (pretty unlikely i'm assuming ), i've decided to test out the new brake pads and triple cranks by stopping at Kilcoy on the way to Brisbane to ride from there to Jimna and back. 80k all up, one small climb, one big climb and then downhill all the way back. Should soften the legs up nicely for Sunday .

Nice work mate I reckon Obi Obi is tougher than Haven, even hurt when I walked it last time.GeoffInBrisbane wrote:SEQ related question - I did Obi Obi rd today. Is Strava full of crap re the gradient up there? The Strava-corrected max gradient apppears as more than 40%! It was a tough climb but it didn't feel nearly as nasty as Haven Rd at Brookfield, so I'm somewhat suspicious.

That's why they invented credit cards and cabs.jasonc wrote:ldrcycles wrote:It always hurts more when you're walking .
I liken it to the 'walk of shame', when you see some slapper walking home in the morning on your early ride, shoes in hand, and still in clubbin' gear!!

I actually likened the 'walk of shame' to the pic that JC put up. Kinda reminds me of the early morning specials you see on both coasts! You know, dragging the handbag and flicking bits of 'carrot' from their hair, wishing they'd get swallowed up by a big hole in the ground.

1) Haven't done back of Glorious descent yet. It worries me.
2) There'd better be plenty of pie stops!
I'm out for a few weeks now, leaving 2am Saturday for the UK, back two weeks later.

Possible rest/food stops will be top of Nebo (water), Glorious (food/water), Somerset Dam (not 100% but I think there might be the old country town servo/bakery there - near the camping grounds), Kilcoy (major rest stop/food/water), Woodford (food/water), Mt Mee (lookout), Pitstop Cafe on Mt Mee (food/water/lookout), Dayboro (food/water), Samford (food/water), The Gap Servo (Slurpies)

Should've added I might need a few weeks to get my legs back after holiday. When were you thinking of?
