Nice to meet you Luke, you did a good average time today, you won't be in C2 for much longer!
I was expecting you to come flying up behind me at any point on the return leg...great time trial practice for the TT champs coming up in 2 weeks time.

Haha. I thought it would have been very touch and go with the 20 or so minute time difference (especially if I had to go ITT) but as soon as I saw you/the other riders cresting the hill that I still had to go down and turn around let alone climb up I knew there was no chance of me even catching up to anyone from that small bunch of riders before the finish. If I just bolted at the gate/knew the circuit was a few km shorter from what people were saying I might have been able to pip 4th place. Great fun none the less in trying to close down that gap :D :D Can't wait for the ITT.

In a handicap race it's just go go go from the beginning, we dropped one of our riders on the first set of climbs, three of us stayed together for a few k's then Karen took off on one of the climbs, the lady who came third and I worked together until that hill on the return leg, I dropped her on that hill, overtook Vince ( the bloke who got first unplaced male) the I spent the rest of the return leg chasing Karen down, got her at the beginning of the last climb about 2k from the finish...and took off for the line!

Awesome weather yesterday, hardly any wind...what happened today, the weather is horrid today, my 40k's was tough!

I thought I passed Vince about 3/4 the way through?

Just double checked the results. Looks like I missed a wave starting. Must have started while we were all sitting on the ground talking about Remi Gaillard and his crazy Tour de France antics

Yup, was hoping for a top 15 and managed to snag 9th, so was pretty happy with day and how the body managed.
Well done on your win, you played it perfectly! I did the opposite, thought we were still 10 mins from the finish (but we were only about 2km), so eased up on a climb to save the legs a little then the attack started doh! Left 30 secs behind. Oh well lessons learnt :)

Thanks, I kept expecting to have Luke fly up behind me at any point on the return leg, young whippet that he is!

You had a better day than my hubby, he was in the same start group as you, crossed the line in 4th but was relegated for crossing the center line...it was that or cause a crash as it was such a close bunch sprint, which is impressive given the course!
That's racing I guess...and everyone stayed upright ready to ride another day :)

Hmmm the finish line wasn't conducive to 5+ bunch sprint was it.
I almost crossed over myself, well I did but got back over when told off. Damn newbs!

What about meeting at the Mt Cootha Lookout and make a detour to Red and White Cedar Park/Camp Mountain? Minimum of 80% of the challenge total in one ride and guaranted bragging rights hahahaha :P

(For those that don't know where Red and White Cedar Park is it's at the bottom of Mt Glorious...... on the other side :P)

I like the route Luke but if you want to get to the top of Mt. Mee you need to ride a couple of hundred metres north of Sellin Rd. on Mt. Mee road.

Yeah. THe route that I posted was cut short when the Pitstop Cafe was running slow and I had to be back in Brisbane to do some stuff that afternoon. 60 minutes for a grilled ham sandwich. Damn I was hungry haha.
