Yes - there is a big sign at the Nebo end of this road which basically says cant go down that way.

Therefore how about ride to Samford, up the Goat track, then to Glorious, then after that descend back to Ashgrove the traditional way ???

Elantra, guess meet at cootha, ride to glorious, ride down glorious to goat track, back up to nebo and then home.

Or sleep in a little extra and meet at Enoggera Reservoir

That's my plan anyway

Anyone want to hit up Ceder Creek road? It runs to a similar distance as the cafe at mount glorious but is only about 200-300m of climbing from turning off Dayboro-Samford road till the end.

Yes Jason, Shaun emerged from the early morning light at the new bus terminus/carpark end of Waterworks Rd (AT) 5.45.

I vaguely recall he might have waited at base of Mt Coottha until he called you just after 5am that day.

In other words, it probably takes 40 minutes from the base of Coottha to the last bus stop on Waterworks Rd

But if we are climbing via Settlement Rd, Samford Rd and Goat track, this turnoff is not as far as that along Waterworks Rd.

Hope i have not got anyone confused by that, see you in the morning, whatever route is the go.

I was still planning on doing the original route (i.e. not the goat track)
will see you in the morning and we can work it out then

EDIT: there's a small storm cell going through there right now. the goat track may not be suitable tomorrow

Hopefully my weak ass legs are up for it towards the end. Punished them a bit too much during the week and todays road race didn't help at all :P

Thanks guys it was a hoot. 8)

The descent straight off Mt Glorious to Highvale/Samford direction is a real brake burner.
After our leisurely refuel at Samford i returned to Nebo via the Goat track.
This was nice, but the day was getting hot by this stage.
Was cooler back up at Nebo, and then i was home by 11am, almost 5 hours and approx 100km after starting.

Did you guys do the 200 km that you planned ?

Luke, Shaun and I all completed the 200. Dave was always going to be well short. He had ideas to go and do coot-tha (as he didn't do coot-tha in the morning) but when he got near home, he went.
