Need feedback on the following route please:
https://www.google.com.au/maps/dir/O'Re ... m1!1b1!3e0
Will be riding this mid-August, probably start Sunday morning.
- is there a better alternative?
- what is the traffic like on the selected route?
- what is the weather like mid-August, can I get away with bibs and jersey and no jacket?
Cheers.

There is an alternate route to taking the highway from the airport to Burleigh - much safer:

FYI there is a way of posting a much shorter URL for Google maps references.....
Select menu, choose share or embed maps then tick short url and copy and paste that.
Here is your example using this method: https://goo.gl/maps/BXAEsgEjdv72

Outpost Cafe at Canungra should be OK. It's right at the turnoff onto the O'Reilly's road and should be good for a refuel before you start the uphill grind.

Thanks guys.
Ride went well, except for one 4 wheel drive blasting his horn whilst overtaking us towards Canungra.
I was surprised how temperature fluctuates on the way up to O'Reillys. One point it was warm to getting hot, then suddenly gets a bit chilly, then back up again.
