Velothon Sunshine Coast...

I noticed this gran fondo event ad featuring Matt Keenen during the Giro coverage on Eurosport last night. Seems to be a new event - at least, I can't recall ever hearing about it before.

With a choice of three day or one day courses, it looks quite challenging - if you're into that kind of thing...

Velothon Sunshine Coast

Hmmm, digging deeper it seems to be part of an international series of events, and is UCI sanctioned.

I guess there will always be a certain amount of people that are willing to part with $486 for a few bars/gels and some bottled water. (who knows, you may even get an ill fitting event jersey to go with it)
The course isn't even that interesting, AND it has no gravel!!

Sounds like your average Ironman event. Oh.... hang on!
