It's a popular cafe - unless there is someone in the group you are keen on ( ), find a group based on speed/distance/geography.
Shop rides are a good way to start, and if this doesn't suit, then try the southern end of the Goodwill bridge early on Saturday/Sunday. It's like a cycling "Tinder".

If you are just looking for a relaxed social ride, go to meetup.com and join the Brisbane Bicycling Meetup group.
Next ride is on 18 Feb, from Orleigh Park West End to New Farm with a coffee/breakfast stop at the City Botanic Gardens. Around 25 kms.
I'll be there.

Also consider joining the "Friendly Brisbane Cyclists" group on Facebook. Great bunch, not too serious, lots of organised rides...

A guy I ride with did a couple of rides with the friendlies and thought that they were too slow for him - so you should be OK. He said that they were a nice bunch of people, and very supportive. He just wanted to go faster.

Don't worry about that high speed average. Most of the Friendly Brisbane Cyclist rides are very much about 'going out for a spin' rather than fast rides.Wimpie wrote:Thank you for all replies.

Another group to seek out is the Wombles (search for them on Facebook). The have a very similar philosophy. Best of luck!
