Hey, has anyone heard of Super Tuesday SA??
Bicycle NSW, Bicycle Vic and the Bicycle Network are encouraging volunteers to count bicycles on Tue 17 March under the banner of "Super Tuesday", to assist in establishing cyclist commuter numbers.
The scheme doesn’t include South Australia, but there’s nothing to stop anyone who wants from doing counts here, too. Hub Traffic & Transport has agreed to provide support for volunteers participating in "Super Tuesday SA".
How it works
• Volunteers decide to do a morning (7am-9am) or afternoon (4pm-6pm) count, or both, and select an intersection at which to count cyclists. Volunteers should email hub[at]hubtt[dot]com[dot]au with their proposed location and whether they will be able to do a morning or afternoon count. Hub will advise if any other volunteers have nominated that location and time, and provide a count sheet and further instructions on what to do on the day.
• On Tuesday, March 17 (St Patrick’s Day), volunteers should head to their agreed location and count cyclists, recording the results in the count sheets.
• Return completed count sheets to hub[at]hubtt[dot]com[dot]au, for collation.
• Encourage friends, family and colleagues to get involved.
And hopefully we get more data to support doing things for cycling!
Sorry about the [dot]s, this thing won't let me post an email address directly!
