I haven't because I've been involved in another sport on saturdays but with the season now finished i was going to check this out.

I remember seeing some flyers posted along the veloway advertising this ride. from memory it stated 27km/h pace. this was a while ago and i think they have started running 2 groups now. Send an email to tailwindcycles@gmail.com and request to be added to mailing list. They send out a email on the fri afternoon to advise of route etc.

edit: have been out to a couple of rides now and pace is more like 23~25km/h

The quick group is still pretty relaxed tbh, the slower one is good for those that are improving their fitness.

The rides are usually around 30-35Ks in 1.5 hours, as Nathan needs to be back to open the shop. I have based the distance on the 10ks each way from my house in Flagstaff and between 50 and 60 total for the morning.

If you go out with the slow group there'd be no issues moving up if you need to. No one gets left behind either!

Tailwind is on facebook too.

Cheers

Gavin

EDIT If you have done nearly 3000ks this year, you won't be fighting to stay in touch with the faster group.

Thanks guys... I am in a similar boat... Sat sporting commitments for my son have kept me busy but with a few weeks sport free now I'm interested in more rides.

What's stopping me is the early start at 7.30am otherwise I'd be in.

Call me lazy.... Nathan has hinted the same... :D

Tomorrows route to take - expressway track, down to Darlington, on Seacombe Road, through Marino, back through Hallett Cove, up Mount M.F. and back through Lonsdale.

The ride for tomorrow, start time is 7:30 at the shop in Lucas Street.

Might make it out there myself

Just got in from the ride.

3 punctures, 1 back wheel and a clip stack. 19 riders out today which is a really good turn out. There was a change of route though. We went through Aberfoyle and onto Black Road, up Main Road, down Bains and back to the shop.

Catch you all next time maybe? :)

How was the ride this morning... after my dismal effort up main Road last week please don't tell me it was reasonably flat :!:
I couldn't make it as I'm still not feeling 100% but am looking forward to getting out riding again soon... yes I know I need to HTFU :-)

it was a great ride, despite silly me taking a wrong turn straight into main road instead of Black road which ended up the LONG WAY back to the shop - I needed the extra distance for the final grand slam ride of the year - the 200 km ride

That was some error Rob! I'd have been cursing giving up all that altitude down ShepardsHill Rd. :o

Have a good ride tomorrow people... I'd love to be there but on top of a Golden Staph infection in my ankle that just cleared up I have now got what the docs suspect is a torn / ruptured ligament in the same ankle. I'm currently playing the waiting game for the swelling to go down before before they decide if I need treatment or leave it to heal naturally.

Fingers crossed the docs are wrong and it will heal quickly :-(

Well, I'm out for around 3 months... I had an acute rupture of the Peroneal Retinaculum with an avulsion fracture and both Peroneal tendons were subluxated significantly. I had an operation last night to repair the damage and will now spend 6 weeks with the foot immobilised then rehab starts... 9-10 weeks before I can even think of getting on a bike.

I'm so disappointed :(
