Well Done to all the riders listed here who done the mini / grand slam 2010 series, particularly for those who did the 5 grand slam rides :)

Bring on 2011 series with new routes announced and boy o boy !! we are in for a surprise

2011 Calendar

#1 Gumeracha - 40km/80km - 20 Feb
#2 Willunga - 50km/100km - 27 March
#3 Williamstown - 60km/120km - 29 May
#4 Echunga - 75km/150km - 28 Aug
#5 Mt Pleasant - 100km/200km - 9 Oct

I'm hoping to do 4 of the Slams next year, one is the day after my 50th so unlikely I'll make that one. Early start with a ride in Feb at Gumeracha, wonder if they'll throw in Checkers.

are these events in the slam open to varying speed levels? I am fairly new to it all and am working up to some sort of level of fittness. I can maintain around 28-32km/hr on the flats but really need to work on my climbing. This seems like a really great thing to have a crack at.

The Grand Slams are great rides, I did 3 this year (2 grands and 1 mini) my aim for 2011 is to do all 5 grands, the rides have everything in a ride, rolling hills, climbs and great views, not forgetting sun, wind and rain, oh did i mention wind?

hmmm, this could interest me. Is each ride usually 170/210 per ride? Cause that would then make it less of an interest ...

Those costs $170/210 are for the full series of five rides.

what the usual process with it? I register and pay, then do I need to register interest in each ride as they come up? I assume there is no pressure to do all of them if you sign up? Also can people participate in only a ride at reduced cost, I have a few friends who might be interested in 1 or 2 rides. Thanks. I guess I can just email Bike SA for an answer.

Pay for the full series (discounted) or pay on a ride by ride basis. Good value, well supported rides, invaluable for those who are more confident with others and knowing there's backup around the corner
