looking for 2nd hand road bike. budget around 100 to 300 dollars. frame size 54cm. based in adelaide, south australia. help... anyone???

I'd be tempted to try a few garage sales, may take a bit of driving around and time wasting but you could get lucky.

A few options,

1) Sat papers usually have a listing of garage sales. But I'd say it's a low yield option.
2) Pawn shop/Cash Converters or similar.
3) Bike stores, especially smaller suburban ones.
4) Noticeboards in unis.
5) eBay.com.au
6) Newspaper classified/Trading Post <tradingpost.com.au>
7) Local supermarket/library noticeboard.
Local dump.

You also see a few hand made sign posts about the place, usually Saturday mornings by me. Sure it would be the same in the city but you have to be up pretty early most of the time otherwise all the good stuff goes.
