nails and thumbtacks on TDU route!!! http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/in-d ... 6249261012
This is shameful - who ever is responsible has not only potentially ruined the day for any Challenge riders unlucky enough to be caught out, but potentially could have caused massive issues for the pro teams on the world stage had this not been found sooner. Terrible! ![]() 2012 Fuji SST1.0 stealth (full Ultegra) 2010 Merida TFS400D Hybrid

A new expression has entered the Australian lexicon: Road Rage - having a Shane Warne moment, doing a Warnie, chucking a Warnie. Cycle touring blog and tour journals: whispering wheels...
Re: nails and thumbtacks on TDU route!!!It happened at the Adelaide Formula 1 Grand Prix many years ago. They had been dropped in one of the overpasses and they would rain down. I remember the trackies at that point needing to check the track between each session to see if any more had dropped.
In the morning, we RIDE.

Re: nails and thumbtacks on TDU route!!!I rode the Bupa challenge yesterday, and to me it seemed to have someone stopped on the side of the road with a puncture at 1 km intervals. Dont know if anyone else noticed the same thing but it just seemed like a really high rate to me.
nails and thumbtacks on TDU route!!!The downhill section before williamstown seemed to have a constant stream of cyclists fixing punctures, which is where I presume this happened.
I was thinking at the time riding past something must be wrong with surface. Main ride: BMC SLX01 Race Master 2010 SRAM Red
Re: nails and thumbtacks on TDU route!!!i did the ride and picked one up on a downhill run at good pace.

Re: nails and thumbtacks on TDU route!!!Next years TDU may be a puncture fest. After all of the publicity that it got there will be lots of others that do the same for shits and giggles.
Re: nails and thumbtacks on TDU route!!!From what I've read, its also happened during Melbourne's Around the Bay in a Day ride in past years also.
