Would it be ok to stay on Main South Rd abit longer and then join up to Old Coach Rd - looks like a nice shoulder to ride on.
I think the shoulder is variable, but the way bill has plotted is much safer... The part of MSR u mention is 100kmh, very busy, and exposed to gusty winds... Much safer to avoid MSR as much as u can...
If u want maximum safety, and still quite scenic, head back via Willunga and MV..

South Road can be busy, so if you don't mind the traffic it's ok.
The coast road takes you over some of the Saturday stage and you get to see Aldinga Beach and Port Willunga, one of the best beaches in SA!
