Sandblasters.

Sandblasters.

Postby boyracer » Mon Apr 07, 2014 2:26 pm

My tame sandblaster has retired and i need to find someone else who does bike work in Adelaide.
I usually do the refinishing myself but am open to suggestions on blast & powdercoat firms.
Any recommendations?

Gordon
Central Powdercoaters is used to dealing with bikes
I have had two frames blasted (he organises it) and powdercoated, along with a couple of Westwood rims.

Central powdercoaters in Keswick did indeed do a fine job. They masked the important threads and landings. Two colours including blasting frame fork and stem, $80.
Nicest PC i've seen. I will be back.

$80 to sandblast and powder coat? what sort of preparation did you have to do before hand?

my chromolly frame is starting to rust a little bit it could do with a fresh powder coat. if its $80 it could be worth doing. how long does it take? one day? days? weeks?

I've had half a dozen bikes done at Centrals. It takes about 2 weeks. No preparation required, just take everything off the frame - inc upper and lower headset races, bb etc.
