Heading over for TDU - things to do?

Postby nitestick » Tue Jan 13, 2015 12:52 pm

Hi SA BNA-ers, I'm heading to Adelaide on Sunday and will be leaving on Australia day. Obviously I'll be checking out the Tour Down Under but could anyone help me fill up my schedule. I like history, beer/whisky and cycling of course. Anyone I could meet up with for a long (probably hilly ride) as a tour guide? Any smashfest rides I'd be free to join? Where should I ride, hills in particular? Cyclist friendly pubs/cafes hidden out nowhere?

Tweed ride on Monday if that interests you. I think it's about 25 clicks. Should be fun if u like retro.

You can join any ride on public roads for free eg bupa ride if you want, just can't partake of food and water stops etc. (there is another thread all about that)

Other than that I might be keen to do a ride. I'm pretty new to Adelaide though so can't help much about other stuff. Have noticed there is some ridiculously good beer made up in the hills though so I reckon some breweries might be worth a visit.
