The 2nd Annual Canberra Vintage & Classic Bicycle Ride 20th September 2009

A great opportunity for owners of, and those interested in, old bicycles (pre 1985) to meet and ride around a 7klm section of Canberra’s picturesque Lake Burley Griffin. Enjoy a great day of viewing old cycles, talking with other enthusiasts and a leisurely ride around your Capitals famous lake in springtime bloom.

Join us at The Canberra Environment and Sustainability Centre,
Address: Corner of Lawson Crescent and Lennox Crossing,
Acton ANU.

Registration/sign on begins at 10 am. No entry fee, just a charity donation on the day thanks.
Riders briefing at 11.15am, ride gets away at 11.30am.

Vintage bicycle display, Cruiser bike raffle, & Prize given for period costume at completion of the ride.

Update
Dr Stovepipe ,our local folk/bluegrass band will play an hour bracket before rideoff.
Raffle and costume prize on the day will be Schwinn Balloon tyre Criusers.(Very Nice)
There will be a classic bicycle auction ( approx 10 bikes) at the completion of the ride.
These bikes can be viewed on the day.

Due to the Event area /Insurance hosts failure to commit to their obligations for this coming event, it has had to be cancelled in it's official form for this year. HOWEVER, their will be still be an unofficial ride, (Trevor & Lindas Family BBQ) on to take it's place. Same day,10am, 20th Sept,Carillon lawns, Wendourie Drive, Kings Park,Lake Burley Griffin.Same area as last year.All most welcome.Hope to see you there.
