About The Cycle Challenge
The Challenge is about 440km bicycle ride staged over 3 days. The course leaves Canberra, heads to Cooma and then up into the Snowy Mountains to end the first day at Jindabyne (175km). Day 2 is all hill - leaving Jindabyne and climbing up into the Kosciuszko National Park, past Perisher and onto to the ride summit at Charlotte's Pass. There, weather and time permitting, leave the bike and walk to the summit of Mt Kosciuszko - the highest point in mainland Australia. Day 2 ends with the ride back to Jindabyne to complete 85km. The final day is the 175km returning from Jindabyne to Canberra.
Throughout the year cyclists raise money for Hartley Lifecare from various activities, such as raffles, cake stalls, and providing volunteer assistance to allow Hartley Lifecare to run canteens.
