it all depends on the day and my schedule..... usually meet at regatta between 3.45 and 4pm. and of course ur welcome, just expect to get some good rest at the top of any hill waiting for my slow ass.HAKS wrote:What time do you guys usually ride? Keen to come along sometime . Nice effort on the hills, Red Hill is short but steep, just wait till you start doing repeats up itrockviewau wrote:spent some quality time with robdog..... well watchin him climb a lot faster then me... up red hill and stromlo this arvo
never done either of them, so was happy to do both of them in one arvo.
25kms i think i did
yeah red hill was steep, we just went to the lookout, which on reading was about 9% incline from the bottom to the lookout.... will be doing it again (mainly for the ride down tho!!

There's a reason they call it HTFUp, not HTFDown, y'knowrockviewau wrote:yeah red hill was steep, we just went to the lookout, which on reading was about 9% incline from the bottom to the lookout.... will be doing it again (mainly for the ride down tho!!
However hitting 63 km/h coming down the bumpy, twisty Red Hill WAS fun....
What's got you off the bike Eric?

Got a puncture halfway down Stromlo, glad that my wheel magnet slipped so I had to stop and adjust it, so I heard the hissing noise. Who knows what would have happened if I'd arrived at a corner at 50 km/h with only 40psi in the front tyre
Had adventures with a funny old European man who wanted directions but had no idea what I was talking about when I tried to give them to him, so I rode for a bit and he followed, which was fun
Thankfully, my cold is all but better now. Stupid viruses!

Who needs compact cranks? Just increase the speed to 15km/h and you'll be spinning nicely .Robdog wrote:I'll second that, 10km/h in lowest gear is still a bit of a grind
Sorry, couldn't help myself. Pulling my head in....now.

Rode Ainslie four times on Monday and hurt the knee again. But spun Stromlo twice this morning at the same power output without any trouble. Anyone got a spare set of triples in 175mm with matching derailleur?

Felt awesome though, so a week off with the flu might have made me come back stronger? Go figure...

Like HAKS, just a quick test ride to make sure the couple of links I put in the chain yesterday are OK before tomorrow's AGF ride. Two thumbs up.

Bonked up Stromlo so it was a long ride home. Don't think I have re-hydrated enough since Amys Ride and the heat today caught me off guard as well.

33 Km
I realised that the paths down in Lanyon are Shite, they just stop, or turn at 90 deg for no reason, and a steep downhill bit with tight corners at the bottom over a blind crest had me worried!

Was a tad windy down the lake but at least it had cooled down a bit when I went (4pm). Legs felt good the whole ride
