Todays ridesRe: Todays ridesSadly didnt get a ride in today as I simultaneously looked after my boy while my partner did the gear up girl ride, had guests over and felt like crap. Didnt stop me logging my rides and cracking 3000kms in the process... 7K to go for the year cos I am aiming now for 10K total. I dont think being O/S for 3 weeks will stop me...

Re: Todays ridesSorry - just added all my rides back to Thursday, so I'm in front again.
Race today, unexpected win considering I normally get crucified on the hills and this race was out through Uriarra crossing and back. I ride, therefore I am.

Re: Todays ridesDid anyone ride around LBG this morning? I rode from Civic over the Commonwealth Ave bridge and then clockwise around the lake to Glenloch Interchange where I then headed up towards Belconnen. From the moment I left the Commonwealth Ave bridge until about Scrivener Dam I was riding through a wall of small titchy little flying bugs. At one stage it looked like it was snowing they were so thick. Bizarre.
Re: Todays rides125km from my place out to Lake George lookout and back. Ouch. Seriously considering new saddle/knicks. Note to self: Breakfast 2 hours before a ride and 2 mini muffin bars are NOT enough to get you through a 5 hour ride.

Re: Todays ridesNice effort. I think I got through my last lake george ride on 1 banana 30 minutes before ride, 1 GU at turn off to old federal highway, and another and final GU at 50km (at the lookout) . Went through 3 water bottles though.
Re: Todays rides37.15 kms from barry dr (mrs' work) up to belco on the bike path, around lake ginn, down to LBG (saw mal meninga walking - on the wrong side mind you) then home to mawson...

Re: Todays rides
Bloodly hell, nice effort. Do it again Monday? Get some dhb knicks from wiggle but not the cheap ones. Comfy azzzz Current Ride: Giant 2010 TCR Advanced 1
Re: Todays rides
I am still very fond of the Craft bibshorts from ProbikeKits for $38 a pair. They used to have 5 colours to choose from which was nice. http://www.probikekit.com/display.php?code=C1480 But I might opt for dhb's 3/4 bibtights for the winter this time though. See how good they really are.
Re: Todays rides
I didn't leave until 11, so that was breakfast. This morning was very lazy... Things at work are looking up as far as cashflow (from them to me) goes, so hopefully I'll be able to get some serious gear in the next month... Do I smell some Dura Ace C50's on the horizon 2009 Avanti Cadent Team

Re: Todays rides
I looked at the Craft shorts but never have my size. Think i will settle with dhb now i know the more pricey ones are comfy. The lowest model were pretty average though. Current Ride: Giant 2010 TCR Advanced 1
Re: Todays ridesToday I did my FIRST EVER Cotter-Uriarra loop, from Waramanga and back, 52kms. Trying to extend from commuting to purposeless (ie weekend) riding. Sooo hilly, ughhh. Very pleased with self. I really need a lighter and lower-geared bike though. My lowest gear is over 50gi.
Re: Todays ridesgood work vin vin

Re: Todays ridesI rode with some Vets this morning , went out from Civic>Federal Hwy>Old Fed Hwy>Shingle Hill Way>Sutton Rd>Sutton>Fed Hwy. 88kms all up for me average speed just over 30km/h. Good workout.
Re: Todays rides120km with Eric, Russell & a guy from work. Kambah - Dickson - New & Old Fed highway to Lake George - New Fed highway back to dickson, around LBG - Weston - Kambah.
Legs felt fine up to about 105km, then was a bit of a struggle. Great ride though and great weather Current Ride: Giant 2010 TCR Advanced 1
Re: Todays rides56kms ... 2hr 30mins with robdog...

Re: Todays rides84km - Kambah - Belco - Giralang - Lyneham - LBG - Mt Stromlo - Kambah
Passed Lucus & Rob on route Current Ride: Giant 2010 TCR Advanced 1
Re: Todays ridesWoden to top of Stromlo, decided we hadn't earned coffee so did second lap of Stromlo and back to Woden. On checking Hillclimbr.com I beat Michael Milton's time up Stromlo and I am a LOT older. Second run was only 5 sec slower on my 92 steel Peugeot and beat daughter with TCR Advanced both runs. OK bragging over.
Re: Todays rides
But do do it with one leg? Seriously - 202w one legged is a VERY impressive number. I ride, therefore I am.

Re: Todays ridesI hoped no one would notice!!
14m07s to the very top, so knock off a min or so for the extra I did. Need some discount for age.
Re: Todays ridesUsual commute: Waramanga - Civic - Waramanga. 27kms. First time with lights this year! Winter is a coming.
Re: Todays ridesRode out on the Federal Hwy to the Tulip Farm and back this morning. Didn't take any notice of how many kms.
Re: Todays rides
Everyone notices Milton's leg. I'd just like to point out that, at 41, I'm getting my arse handed to me by people in vets club who are in their 50's/60's. I ride, therefore I am.
