I was just thinking that on my ride this morning. I'm planning a big week of Km from Mon 5th to Sun 11th as i have it off from Work. Easter Sat & Sun will prob go lightly in prep the big week :).

But always keen to do a few group rides.

Either on 10th 11th are you interested in a run to Tidbinbilla Tracking Station from Stromlo, like the Audax ride "Stairway to Corin on 29th May"?

Won't get any days off on that week. But free on all weekends and public holiday during Easter.

Unless you are interested in doing some hills after work sometime during the week.
how slow is slow
For the Lake George ride, like to do this longer rides at easy pace. Probably will be 23 to 25km/h. How does this sounds?

It's just under 100km and it's easier to maintain speed than riding around bike path for sure.

Not sure if it's a good idea to slot this in on 5th April. Thoughts?

The Saturday is my bday, so I am hoping to test out something new on a ride... :) I want a couple of bigger rides. Might do Uriarra or 6 peaks just for fun...

If you are keen on Uriarra on Satruday the 2nd April, Pedal Power organises a relatively slow group (24km/h) to do the Uriarra loop every 2nd week.

But good to email Rafe beforehand though, since, it's the Easter holiday this time.

Rockview - I'm slow. I'd love to go on some long rides too but figure I'd be too slow for all the fast boys. Last time I did stromlo repeats, albeit not last week - i was chugging along while many fast lads and junior kids ripped past me like I was standing still. I can certainly do 23-25 kmph - but certainly don't average it over 100 kms or so. Well, not out or around Tharwa loop. And I'd be as embarrassed as all hell to hold up young fit guys.

Another slowy!! Id be happy to join you for a ride around the place. Im sure Rob would join us, he just likes to ride anytime he can, and i enjoy riding with him... he is younger and fitter and on a faster bike, so i try to keep up!! (but cant haha) The next week and a bit will be sketchy, but im free on saturday week till about 1pm (wedding at 3pm) and on the sunday (10th and 11th of April) - plus the Mrs will be doing a wreck diving course (i love her, i have my course done too..... perfect woman!!) in Merimbula, so any excuse to leave the house will be awesome!!

Thanks guys - honestly - I'm often up for a ride on the weekend and sometimes go with the FIT girls on Sunday morning - but my hours are a bit weird and sometimes i work on sundays. But call me a woos but i'd be too embarrassed to go with guys who bolt at 45 kmph and drop me within the first 200 metres so its a bit hard to determine how slow is slow if that makes sense.

I was out at Stromlo yesterday with ACTVAC (attempting to run... ) and saw a vets race there. I have marginally thought about joining them but don't know whether they'd be encouraging and supportive or think I was a total joke!

Thats why they run grades... You should just give it a go. You will most likely be pleasantly surprised.

Results from Sunday - you can make your own judgements about speed/ability... the race was 42.9km.
I ride, therefore I am. But don't ride into harm's way.
