Good effort number21 in doing the Epic! Last year, I finished the 105km and immediately knew I had to do the 165km. Having finished the 165 this year though, I couldn't even contemplate getting through the Epic. Those extra two hills are in another league for me (well, in actual fact, Fitz's, and the one that followed, was another league for me prior to Sunday!).
And good on you also for pushing on despite the broken spoke and the horrendous weather at the start. It's good to finish something like that despite being given every excuse to pull out. An extra sense of achievement. Well done.

Thanks, I think I was helped but not knowing what I got myself into. I reckon anyone who got up Fitz deserves a pat on the back. I seriously underestimated that climb. 2.5kms? Blah, how hard could it be?
Fitz = respect

Hope I haven't missed the boat, late as usual. I bought this one. It was a bargin at $8.80 for the largest resolution. Much cheaper than other similar sites I've seen and they donate part of that to charity. stevecassidy wrote:Here's a picture of the Epic start that I took from outside my tent at 6am. This has to be an image of extreme optimism, or maybe masochism. Steve
Cool photo and good comment too, wish I could answer it...

Hi, just wondering if the timing of the finishing photos is accurate as I am sure I finished at 15:18 but according to my photo at the finish line the time was 14:18 I am confused...
