Riding towards Woden at 7am this morning, and there was a cyclist off their bike (flat bar hybrid or MTB) between Corkhill St and Parkes Way on the way to Civic. I got to watch the tail end of the action as I just happened to be stopping to fix a flat at that moment. The rider was sitting up on the gutter having first aid from a tradie with a decent sized medical kit, so hopefully wasn't too badly injured. Nice to see that some cars and cyclists had stopped to render assistance - given the current "not my problem" attitude most people seem to exhibit.
I don't know if it was single vehicle or an assisted accident, but that's a long straight section of road with good visibility, and when I came back that way there were no obstructions on the road. Other than a wet patch where the fire brigade had washed the claret away.
