Fitz Challenge - 2011 Edition. Who's in and which one?

I saw today that they've published the map for the Fitz's Extreme 250km with a leisurely 4,400m of climbing ( http://www.fitzs.com.au )

Scheduled for 30 October and rego now open.

I'll go out on a limb and say "I'm in for the Extreme". Who else is in and which one (50k, 105km, 165km, 207km, or 250km) are you planning to tackle?

I found this the only weekend without racing on.

Looking to do 165 in less than 5.5 hours. I wouldnt mind the bigger distances, but I want to go hard over a previously known course.

Hmmm I've never ridden in a road cylce race before (or any cycle race for that matter). The 105 sounds tempting.

i would say the 50km for me, im doing this as a warmup to a triathlon..... should be a good hitout...... hehhe. if i get fit enuff, i might consider the 105

Did the 105 2 years ago and swore that with a BIG birthday this year I would do the classic 165 - but, the more I look at the size of Fitzs Hill, the more I feel like repeating the 105km. Also got to do the 5 peaks this year - only managed 4 last year.

Having done the Epic a number of times in the past I just can bring myself to do this ride anymore.

I have always been a bit disapointed with this ride when you compare it to what Bike SA and Bicycle Victoria can come up with.

My concern is the lack of support on the ride. The number of times I have heard from other riders that the water ran out after a couple of hours and there is no food to speak of. Also there is no rescue support should you run into problems.
I have always wondered what you got for your money.

there are showers at stromlo so u should be able to have a wash, if your desperate, there is always lake burley griffin!!!

If I am going to spend that much time riding it will be in France following the tour, such are my plans once my second child is old enough to not be too much of a burden on my partner.

Fitz will be fun, regardless. Although it is a bit too close to Canberra for my liking.
