Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde Ride
Join a short Gravel Grinder to maintain winter fitness and experience some new country and mixed road surfaces.
Two ride options: Dr Jekyll (110km) traverses 30 kms of generally high quality gravel road. Mr Hyde (130km) is possessed by a wicked craving for an additional 18 km of rougher surface.
Start: Gunning 8AM Sun 16th June
Dr Jekyll traverses 30 kms of generally high quality gravel road suited to 28 mm tyres, perhaps even 25 mm if you are skilled and cautious. After passing through Wheo, the good Doctor rejoins the pavement and heads directly eastward for Crookwell and a warm cafe. The descent from Crookwell on paved road makes for a quick and exhilarating return to Gunning.
Mr Hyde is suddenly seized by a craving for much rougher gravel, an additional 18 km of it, before the fiendish brew releases him at Binda. Resolving never to succumb again, he virtuously returns to Gunning on paved surfaces via Crookwell.
