Postby DWhite » Sun Aug 17, 2008 8:03 am

Hi All,

Just moved to Gungahlin and was wondering if anyone could suggest the best route in to Civic for a weekday commute.

Welcome! I hope that you like your commutes a bit colder than most of the other forum members.
I suppose that it depends on whether you want a bike path or road oriented route, but getting in to Civic is pretty straight forward. I'd get on to bikely and do a search on 'Gungahlin', as I think that there's a couple of routes posted there.
I can't help much, because I'm in the 'other' north - Belconnen.
Litespeed Classic - 3Al/2.5V titanium tube set, Record 9-speed groupset, Open Corsa Evo CX
Alchemy Diablo - Columbus Zonal tubing, Ultegra 9-speed groupset, UltraGatorskins
Gitane Rocks T1 - U6 tubing, Deore/XT groupset, CrossMarks

Hi Mate

I ride from Civic to Gungahlin once a week, this is the route I take, it's all on bike paths except for Northbourne Ave.

^^^ would def be the fastest and least difficult route. If you want to stick to bike paths you can follow the cycle path through lyneham, oconner and turner. Will spit you out on Barry Drive around Marcus Clarke street.

Thanks for the replies guys. Will give aleg75's suggestion a go on Tuesday morning on the new brand new bike (Avanti Blade 4).
