Postby HappyHumber » Wed Feb 11, 2009 12:19 am

Had a quick skim through the forums, couldn't see any reference to it....

23 yo Female Cyclist killed in Mt Claremont sometime earlier today.

:(

(Edit by Mod: casualty was a motorcyclist.)

Conflicting reports, this one says she was a motorcyclist, not nice just the same.

Yeah, not nice....

17y.o. driver, so it'd have to be a learner or p-plater....

Cheers,
Leighton...

One of those motoscooters?

Given the experience of many Asian countries, those things are suicide machines and have been responsible for way too many death. Although they are cheap and convenient, but with the higher speed and mixing of large motor vehicles, survival on one of those is not high. I am not sure whether seeing more of them on our Oz roads is a good thing.

As tragic as any death is on our roads, I'm going to lock this thread now, since it's not really related to cycling.

I do offer my condolences to her family and friends though - it could have been a cyclist just as easily.
