Bunbury!

Postby Earthy Ochre Man » Thu Feb 19, 2009 8:28 pm

So... I am heading down to Bunbury soon for an extra long weekend with a mate. We plan on hitting a few pubs and catching up with a few people (my mate grew up there).

It was suggested that we take our bikes with us, an idea I am all for. Can anyone suggest any good cycle routes down there?

Cheers,

Matt D.

I spend a bit of time down there - main comments would be
a) avoid major roads
b) there's lots of hills

If you've got a strong bike with big gears, the unsealed roads along the hills are spectacular and allow one to avoid the main highways. But anything with less than 32 spokes need not apply!

beware the bogan quotient is high in them thar parts.
I know - I used to be one of them ;)

One of the few things that ever changes about Bunbury is which series of Commodore predominates amongst the bog lappers up & down the mainstreet of a Thursday Night

I used to do it in a HZ Kingswood (complete with Premier front end!!).

Sigh...I loved that car...then I got rid of the boyfriend

But I must admit, you can take the girl out of the country...and all that :D

Although I have never ridden there - Based on recent holidays I think there would be some great routes to take.
