Cycling Training Study at ECU

Postby jburns » Tue Mar 20, 2007 6:11 pm

Is it time you put a dent into your bike split times?

Volunteers are needed for a cycle training study occurring in the Sports Science department at Edith Cowan University, Joondalup.

There are many professionals that have had success using PowerCranks in racing and training. As a result, we are seeking 18-45 years old male cyclists or triathletes to participate in a seven week training study examining the effects of training with PowerCranksâ„¢ on cycling performance. The study will examine the influence of training with or without PowerCranks on VO2max, thresholds, cycling economy and time trial performance.

If you complete the study you will also be entitled to purchase a set of PowerCranksâ„¢ at a heavily discounted price.

For participation in this study you must:

1. Be male;
2. Have been training for at least three years;
3. Regularly ride ≥200km per week.

For your participation you will receive:

1. A maximal exercise test, used to determine your VO2max, peak power output and anaerobic threshold;
2. Cycling training zones for both heart rate and power;
3. First hand knowledge of the benefits of training with PowerCranksâ„¢.

WA. You sure qualify but you'll have to fly over for a week by the sound of things. :wink:

I got excluded by that 3 years clause. Damn!

It's about 25km North of Perth (about 10km from where I live).

Yeah...the uni is a 5min bike ride from my house...I get excluded on the 3year clause...oh yeah, and the "must be male" clause. How unfair!! :wink:

Sounded like a great thing to be involved with actually. I'll pass this onto a friend of mine and see if he's interested. He does those weird ironman triathlons so may get some benefit here.

Moo...
