Check the rider in yellow on the left at the 1.28m mark! I don't know who the poster is but he managed to capture me for a few seconds in the tunnel!

Also footage of a crash that occurred last week (nothing too dramatic so don't expect any blood, guts and severed limbs!)

Hey Gary,

nice footage man!!

What group was the crash in?

I started at the back of the B group and got to just behind the A's at the finish

Hi Stu,

It was in the B Group. It happened about 1 min in front of me and was cleared pretty quickly.

Cheers,

Gary

I'm going to try and organise a camera myself for next year. Fine footage. I might even be fit enough to start with the A's next year.

Who took the footage, anyone on this site?

regards

Stu

Newbie question, but at the end of the first video there is a rider on the right on tri bars. I was under the impression that it was bad etiquette to use these in a group, esp. a big grp like the freeway ride?

Re Tri Bars, I believe they are officially "banned" from the Freeway Ride and the Great Bike Ride...however they don't seem to enforce the ban as I saw plenty of them at both of the above events. I think part of the reason will be that the events are full of volunteer helpers on the day who just turn a blind eye or aren't aware of the rules.

Cheers,

Gary

I still don't understand the ban on tri bars. If its street legal then how can they ban them?

I agree.

Using them in a group ride and having them on are two distinctly different things.

I used them on the ride but not in a group.

all about being mindful really, isn't it. I wouldn't (and didn't) be using them whilst overtaking or navigating through heavy traffic

And my argument with them is - what about touring bars

Mine look like tri bars or aero bars, but are actually touring bars :D

Without them I have nowhere to mount the cameras.

Thanks, but I never noticed. I gave up trying to catch Richard some months ago. :D

I noticed the other day that Richard and I had exactly the same number of posts at 1951 each. Richard came to the board 6 months after me and was the #1 poster in 6 months.

Good to see you crack the 1000 Kev.

Thanks Mike.

I'm wondering, with Richard being an Admin, whether he bumped his post count up by a lot. :D :D :D

Whatever the truth is about the post count, he definitely used the most disk space.
