Railway Heritage Trail MTB Ride

G'day

Joined Perry and Laura on Perry's MTB ride of the Railway Heritage trail on Sunday. Ignoring the poor turn-out (it was a Perth Bushwalkers Club activitiy) ... and the rain. The rain really wasn't a big issue as we dried off in between the downpours  .

All up a very good ride of approximately 46 km in length on an easy grade riding track. Great scenery with creeks running and misty views over the city on the way back to the start. Quite a bit of activity on the trail bu which makes fast riding a bit more of a risk. That said a good training trail, opportunity to get out with the kids, etc. Well worth check out. Details on the trail can be found at http://snipurl.com/1omwu

We enjoyed a stop at a cafe for coffee and lunch at Mt Helena.

Regards
Andrew

G'day DrJ

Welcome to the forums. Yes you can ride the whole way on a hybrid. Laura was riding a older steel framed bike with slicks without trouble.

Thanks for that - it has always looked to be great for a relaxing day ride, particularly as I'm interested in the railway history side as well.

Hopefully can take the family up there in spring!

Given he is still here to tell us the story, I'm guessing sausage and risoles were served on the day .....
