Yup, did it. I thought it was very well organised - the controls were good - heaps of water, food, sunscreen and smiles from the people manning them, so well done to the organisers. I took the 5 dams option and completed with my partner in 8:45 which was way better than I had ever expected. Feeling a little sore this morning in the quads but overall it was a great day with some really strong riders and I'll be back next year.

How did you find the traffic along Albany Hwy?

Didn't have any problems at all - the road shoulder is pretty !! BAN ME NOW FOR SWEARING !!, very coarse and narrow with a few spots of gravel and of course those ripple strips. Few large trucks but they left heaps of room, same with the cars. Biggest issue was oncoming trucks - got blown around a little by those but nothing scary.

I was driving along Albany Hwy. Jarrahdale turn off I smelt burnt rubber. All I know is that a car/truck had locked brakes. Didn't see a cyclist down thankfully. If I had known this was on I would have had what 5 Dams only, come do 6 damns with Audax for $10 :)

Well done. That is a good time for a difficult ride.

What time did it start, I saw many cyclists on Armadale Rd heading out of the hills. If they were part of the 5 Dams ride    I saw them around 11:20am.... How fast were they averaging.

Armadale Rd was the 3 dams route, 5 dams exited the hills via Kingsbury Dve, through Karnup then onto the Freeway via Karnup Rd.

I went for a ride down to Mandurah and back, on the way back ran into a group that were on the way home from the 5 dams ride. I felt pretty ordinary but I suspect they were feeling a lot worse than me. Stuck with them for 20km's or so, sounded like a fun ride but most definitely not what I'd call a fun way to spend a weekend!
