34.9kph not bad nimm! I've got stuff on ebay
Ummm... Gives new meaning to 'Put your best leg forward' at the finish line. Bianchi, Ridley, Montague, GT, Garmin and All things Apple
i was doing a wheely!!
hahahah . . same thing happened to me in the city to surf. . but i went over at the exact same time as a friend of mine, so i know what my time was, that half hour stop in matilda bay at the start of the second lap really didn't help us. was such a good day though, looking forward to next year's ride
32.1kph well done ! There seems to be a stack of riders in this ride who could average 30kph + I've got stuff on ebay
Yip, when you look at how many riders finished say within a couple of minutes, a small improvement in time would shift you way up there.
On a personal note, the one thing I'm going to do different next year is find a way of getting up that dam tiny steep Mead's Hill (or whatever it's called) far quicker. Some technique tips? Some general (sweeping) observations about the riders on the day (that I saw anyways) that I think would help them get a faster time. ...and hey - I'm as guilty as my next fellow rider but still worth talking about... 1. Many riders do not go down to the low handle bar position (even *into* the wind) which I found surprising. 2. Many riders cruise downhill to get a rest - even when they could have instead gained speed to get up the other side whole lot quicker). 3. Failing to get into a group is way way sloooower... - I think that is the number 1 lesson learnt for me. ok who has some more?
Hey - I got 616th. My lucky number!
I see one of my mountain biking mates finished third. Not bad for someone who only road-rides as training for his real riding. Another of my MTB mates (a female one) finished 9th in the women's section. (Another road-rider only when she can't get out on the real bike .....) Cheers, Graeme Think outside the double triangle.

I notice that the winner of the 106k ride has a faster average speed than the winner of the 53k ride
I've got stuff on ebay
Yeah all the pros ride in the 106km so that was bound to happen. While we were on the starting grid they came around finishing their first lap (divided road - we on one side, the 106km-ers passing by on the other). That lead group was moving pretty fast!
