Went for a run from Coode St Jetty, over Windham Bridge and down to Mosman Park and back again at 7AM. Got drizzled on a bit to start with and it picked up as we went under the Narrows—wasn't too bad. Lightning over the northern suburbs was impressive. Came down a lot more on the way back and got pretty dirty. Was a nice morning though: cool temps and very little wind.

Still cleaning the bike now though...

Hi

Did the Coastal Cruise 200 yesterday. Coped some rain south of Mandurah (it got quite cold) and then again as we neared Fremantle, otherwise wasn't to bad weather wise. We missed the early morning thunderstorm/lightening ... rode around it in fact.

Good ride Andrew?

Was expecting rain this morning after listening to the forecast yesterday......very happy to have a nice dry ride. Brookton Hwy is a nice lengthy climb

The last 5 or so days have been so bloody windy - copping head winds to and from work, and even Sat and Sunday were hard and intense.
To make matters worse, got swooped by maggies to and from work yesterday!bastards!

With you there re: the wind. Has been kicking my ass every morning—tucking in only helps so much. I feel it for the commuters on flat-bars who are copping a chest-full of wind, though!

I'm usually in the fortunate situation of riding south to work (light E / NE most times) and north going home (S / SW).
This past week tho - it's been mad easterly all day.

the weather was great this morning on my 20km commute. During the afternoon I watched the weather turn bad from where I work and ventured out a little later than planned to head north home only to be caught in a large storm front with gusting winds from the west  .
It was hard work and I was soaked. Still something refreshingly satisfying about getting through it 8) .
Alas the breaks suffered badly in the weather and stopping power was negligable, thankfully the driver slowed as I skidded through a stop sign.

Trained tonight - did only 45 km but the 20 back into the wind and rain was tough.

Only saw 2 other riders, so I'm happy that I'm one hard training ride up on the competition :).

Didn't ride today but did a 200 on Saturday and coped a fair of very cold rain between Pingelly and Wandering so don't feel so bad about not riding today :)

So how was the weather in the South last night??? It looked tough on the radar, had a great lights show here in the sunny North. laid out the back with my two eldest and watched the lightning for a few hours.

I went out and got a bit of rain going to work, coming home lucky I had my rain gear. I stayed perfectly dry except my shins. I saw a few drenched rats going the other way tho. They must have been freezing.

Came home from Nedlands to North Perth at around 11pm last night had to wait for an hour after work for the worst of it to pass. Missed most of the storm but there was still a lot water around. saw about 3 cars stuck in the middle of Loftus st which looked like it had about a metre of water flowing across it near Hay St.
Scary night to be out riding.

I've used this cruddy weather to take the past 3 days off the bike - feels good!
November / early December always sux - the changing seasons means it's been so bloody windy in the mornings.

I went for an 80k ride and got back home a bit damp at 8PM. At 10:00PM I was in my shed//workshop pulling apart my integrated headset which had begun to creak a lot. When it started I couldn't hear anything except what sounded like intense hail on the roof. I prodded doubtfully at the skylight wondering whether it would be ok then tentatively stuck my hand out the door and was very surprised that it was only rain but what incredible intensity! My rain guage recorded 30.5 mm in about 20 minutes! Never heard or seen rain like it. I guess that's what the rain is like in the tropics.

Yep, exactly what it is like in the tropics, though it is a bit colder here..... reminded me very much of Darwin in the Wet

Happy Summer Solstice everyone!

We're at the top of the curve and headed back to Winter and all that gloomy weather that everyone likes to talk about so much on this thread. Today would also be the day to sacrifice a small furry animal to appease the God of the Office Photocopier. In the meantime don't forget the sunscreen.
