Sounds about right, looking at the graph the minimum was when I was in shade for a few minutes changing a tube at about 5:45am

And this is the only time of the year I get an opportunity to cycle to work every day for a week or so...

...Been melting coming in with very slow times but not so worried about that. Just congratulating myself for making it each day.

I'll be riding down to Jarrahdale from the Parkwood area at about 5pm today, returning tomorrow after midday (unless I cave in and strap the bike to the wife's car.) 34 tomorrow, so not too bad. Just depends how I feel when I wake up on NY day ...

I just swapped the rear wheel for another with big granny gears, so hopefully I'll be able to make it up J'dale hill. (My regular cassette is a 7-speed corn cob which goes with hills like hot english mustard and chocolate.)

I usually ride my hybrid down to Jarrahdale with loaded panniers, so this'll be the first time on my road bike. Half the weight should be good, but nowhere to stash 10L of water, nine Mars Bars, fifteen spare tubes and a solar-powered bike pump.

ugh.

so hot, especially the bits when I was heading NNE into the foul NNE wind.

didn't enjoy the flat tyre that ended my ride either, looking forward to 2013 now.

I did ride 207km to Pinjarra and back on NY's eve. My Garmin registered an Average Temp. of 42 deg. C

http://app.strava.com/activities/34924319

Started at 9:40AM, finished at 7:00PM - had an extended stop in Pinjarra to fill up bottles and hydration kit with ice. I carried 6 litres of water on the bike, 4 bidons and a 3L hydration bladder. Kept the liquid cool pretty much all day. I used NUUNS tabs to avoid cramps and arm & leg protectors to avoid the UV.

Pushed out into about 35 degrees and 9000% humidity this morning to go meet some friends for yum cha. Just as I was about to turn around and ditch onto the train instead, a nice light drizzle set in that kept the evaporative cooling system going all the way into n'bridge, which was just the ticket. Gave myself a bit of extra time to sit in the shade and cool off, but still had sheets of sweat rolling down my back when we sat down ... bit antisocial maybe but I wasn't in any worse shape than those who had parked 3 blocks away!

Particularly all the slippery, bloody leaves on the oily, wet, bricks where I tried to stop yesterday.

There must be a bunch of gods who answered prayers for cool weather calling us a bunch of moaners 'now its too windy for them... Pfft.'
'hottest day in Australia' was an odd headline to read

Doing about 10km/ph this afternoon riding south for the same amount of effort that would usually see me cruising along at 30km/ph... just can't win!

Perfect riding weather this morning. 21 degrees and hardly any wind.

Yesterday afternoon though...heart rate at 190 and big effort to go over narrows at an earth shatteringly fast 25km/h.

Whew - As usual I rode all the way in - 90 minutes and muggy as buggery the whole way.

And at 12:30 I had to sprint from East Perth to Ardross for a 2:00pm dental appointment. Another ninety minutes and his time at max speed. Dunno what the temp was but it had to have been higher than the forecast 34.

Then 90 minutes in the dentist chair.

And then twenty minutes in the heat again to get home. Temperature has gone up further.

I am now looking forward to pizza and a number of beers to go with it. I figure I have already worked them off.

And going back in time - On Friday the house air-con finally fixed after three weeks. I am still waiting for a part for my car air conditioning that packed up on the trip to Dongara on Christmas eve.

Bring back winter. Please.

Weather yesterday was fairly intense. Going home from Welshpool to Como at 3:30pm was a struggle.

Yeah, I think this morning was the most uncomfortable I've been since I started commuting daily a few years ago. 30C, 60%+ humidity, NE headwind. I just stopped sweating a few minutes ago, and I took a cold shower when I got in at 8.

I'd prefer the 42C I had riding home on New Years Eve over this kind of weather.

Initially there was nothing to be pleased about, weatherwise. But a but before 6:30 I got a light breeze - N or NNE - that flet like a breath of fresh air. Still muggy but at least it was sorta cool. And lasted most of the way thru Como/South Perth.

Of course that breeze from that direction probably means that there is not much to look forward to for the ride home.

Yep, 31deg at 4am in Jandakot.

Got to up to Canning DAM with a PR which was nice, but I was dehydrated much earlier than anticipated which didn't leave me much after I got there!
