"Going where no rangers have gone before, Mellanie Culhane and Darren Rogers on bicycle patrol in the park."
Rangers are roving on bicycles instead of four-wheel drives in Nedlands.
Pedal-powered patrols are happening on the foreshore, in parks and at the beach.
Ranger Darren Rogers said the bike patrols gave rangers more chance to stop and talk to the public about things like dog control and registration, litter and the use of reserves.
The bikes can go places that rangers cannot get to in cars and the slower pace means they can see more of what is going on.
